At the end of the 18th century, romanticism had a new view of the gothic style discredited during the Renaissance and the Classical period. England was the starting point of neo-gothic but then, thanks to literature, and as it was introduced as a Christian virtue and a nationalist value, neo-gothic came to the continent.
People built in the neo-gothic stylein the middle of the 19th century. Some famous architects : Eugène Augustus Welby, Morthmore and Béthune. -
